GUARDRAILS

Guardrails are a lightweight, long lasting and adaptable system that provides the highest level of fall protection safety by controlling access to fall risk areas. Being a permanent system, guardrails do not require any ongoing adjustment or operation and users do not require a harness or training to use them.

GUARDRAIL CONSTRUCTION

Constructed with high strength aluminium, they can be easily powder coated to blend in with their surroundings. Guardrails are also prefabricated which means installation is fast and cost effective.

Commonly used modular components of the guardrail system include handrails, grabrails, kneerails, posts, adjustable elbow corners, swing gates and end caps.

WHEN TO USE GUARDRAILS

Guardrails are the safest option for access, regardless of a worker’s skill level, and can be used for a variety of applications including:

  • Areas requiring frequent access by maintenance personnel
  • Safe access to gutters and other unprotected fall edges
  • Installation in conjunction with walkway systems (either on one side or both sides)
  • Retro fitting to existing stairways, access platforms, metal roof decks and concrete, timber and steel structures
  • Low aesthetic impact through the use of fold-down guardrail options

GUARDRAIL COMPLIANCE

All the guardrails we use in our fall arrest and roof access systems have been designed, manufactured and independently tested in accordance with requirements of the following Australian Standards:

  • AS1657:2013 – Fixed Platforms, Walkways, Stairways And Ladders — Design, Construction And Installation

MAINTENANCE OF GUARDRAILS

Visual inspection for any damage or loose fixings along with basic wear and tear preventative maintenance is recommended periodically, however no certified maintenance is required.
