WALKWAYS

Walkways are a lightweight, long lasting, non-corrosive and maintenance free walkway system that provides safe access to roof mounted plant and equipment and also make cost effective roof deck protection.

WHEN TO USE WALKWAYS

Walkways are versatile systems that can be used for a variety of applications including:

  • Non-slip walkway systems for safe access to roof mounted plant and equipment
  • Safe access over brittle and other fall risk surfaces such as roof lights and asbestos roof decking
  • Designated walkways to control access in hazard or ‘No Go’ areas
  • Protection of roof decks in heavy traffic areas
  • Protection of skylights and roof lights
  • Suspended or gantry walkways for elevated access
  • Prevention of trips and falls caused by some roof sheet elevations and profiles

WALKWAY CONSTRUCTION

Walkways systems are available in both aluminium and fibre composite construction depending on the application and utilise a variety of fixing options. Fibre walkways are non-metallic, therefore non-conductive, and are available in both ‘Yellow’ for high visibility or ‘Grey’ to minimise visual impact.

Walkways can be easily fitted with guardrails on either one or both sides to provide a higher level of safety.

WALKWAY COMPLIANCE

All the walkways we use in our fall arrest and roof access systems have been designed, manufactured and independently tested in accordance with requirements of the following Australian Standards:

  • AS1657:2013 – Fixed Platforms, Walkways, Stairways And Ladders — Design, Construction And Installation

MAINTENANCE OF WALKWAYS

Visual inspection for any damage or loose fixings along with basic wear and tear preventative maintenance is recommended periodically, however no certified maintenance is required.
